CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna - Philippine National Police (PNP) Region 4 Director Mao Aplasca has relieved the San Pedro City police chief and a jailer after six detainees bolted the station's detention cell on Monday.

Chief Supt. Harold Depositar and Police Officer 2 Jobencio Piodo were sacked Wednesday after Monday's jailbreak, when detainees mostly facing drug charges, fled.

They were removed after failing to meet PNP Chief Director General Ronald Dela Rosa's 24-hour ultimatum for the recapture of the fugitives.

Supt. Zeric Soriano was appointed to take his place.

As of Wednesday morning, only one of the fugitives- Jordan Mahusay- has been found after police caught up with him in Barangay Vicente, San Pedro City.

Still at large are Benjo Lopena, Mark Joseph Alviar, Ed Niño Hernandez and Arvin Basilan, all facing drug-related charges, and Rey Erenia, who is facing a complaint for illegal possession of a deadly weapon.

A manhunt operation is ongoing to track the other fugitives.
