Former Cabinet secretary Leoncio Evasco Jr. said he will pursue a vote-buying case against Bohol governor-elect Arthur Yap.

Evasco, who lost to Yap by some 2,000 votes, earlier said he would seek Yap's disqualification.

He has yet to decide whether to pursue filing a petition for failure of election.

"I thought Bohol is ready to vote with just issues and no money, but I was wrong," Evasco said.

Evasco lives in his hometown Maribojoc, where he had been staying before becoming one of the campaign managers of President Rodrigo Duterte.

"I'm limiting my travels, because there a lot of people who come to me crying. I don't know how to react," said Evasco, who added that he has no plans to seek a Cabinet post.

He is currently forming a foundation to address poverty in Bohol. He added that he has no plans at the moment to run again for governor in 2022.
