MANILA- The United Coconut Planters Bank (UCPB) told the Sandiganbayan 1st Division that they have no records of bank accounts held under the name of pork barrel scam whistle-blower Benhur Luy.
In a letter to the court, UCPB said it "has no records of any documents covering the period from 2006 to 2010 pertaining to the accounts specified in the subpoena."
The camp of former Sen. Bong Revilla earlier requested the court to issue a subpoena deuces tecum to banks, including UCPB, to produce certified true copies and other bank records of Luy, as well as other employees of Napoles, from 2006 to 2010.
They noted the following accounts supposedly under the name of former employees of Napoles: Benhur Kilapkilap Uy SD 1019300000724, SD 1019300001080, 1019300000724; Benhur Luy SD 1019300000724; Gertrudes Kilapkilap Luy SD 1019300000797; Merlina Pablo Suñas 1019300000815; Marina Cortez Sula 1019300000797.
The request of Revilla stemmed from the civil forfeiture case involving Napoles and others.
Revilla insisted that the "inquiry on illegally acquired money should likewise extend to those deposits in the names of the respondents" in the civil forfeiture case.
