MANILA - Rotating water service interruptions in Metro Manila's East Zone residents will continue, while supply remains "deficient," Manila Water said Tuesday.

The Ayala-led concessionaire is still short by 50 million liters per day despite receiving augmentation from various sources, said Manila Water corporate communications head Jeric Sevilla.

Manila Water currently receives 50 to 55 mld per day from its Cardona plant in Rizal, 30 mld from deep wells and 90 mld from its cross border agreement with Maynilad, he told DZMM.

"Marami pa pong lugar na hindi po 24/7 pero po mayroon na pong tubig...Hindi po natin alam kung kailan magnonormalize kasi po deficient pa ‘yung supply. Kulang pa po talaga," Sevilla said.

(There are a lot of areas where there is no 24/7 water supply. We don't know when operations will normalize because of deficient supply. There's still a shortage)

The Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) on Monday said the rebate meant for consumers affected by the shortage in supply since March, would be reflected in their billing this June.
