PH Red Cross inaugurates training center for Yolanda survivors

Philippine Red Cross Chairman Sen. Richard Gordon led the inauguration of the organization's vocational training center in Tacloban.

TACLOBAN CITY- The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) inaugurated Friday afternoon its vocational training center here in the hopes that it would help provide technical training to typhoon Yolanda survivors.

PRC Chairman Sen. Richard Gordon, Royal Charity Organization (RCO) Secretary General Dr. Mustafa Al Sayed, and the RCO Bahrain delegation led the inauguration together with Yolanda survivors living in the Tacloban resettlement site.

The facility, which will be accredited by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), will offer training on electrical installation and maintenance, plumbing technology, carpentry, masonry, commercial cooking, bread and pastry, production, seafarers ratings course, and training for for call center agents.

Aside from Tacloban, there will also be another vocational training center to be inaugurated Saturday in Subic, Zambales.
