MANILA—A trainer aircraft has been reported missing after taking off Friday morning at San Jose Airport in Occidental Mindoro.

A Filipino pilot and a Saudi Arabian student were on board the Beechcraft Baron 55 plane that departed the airport at 8:13 a.m. Friday, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).

The aircraft was last traced 16 nautical miles south of San Jose town.

The Philippine Air Force, the Philippine Navy, the Philippine Coast Guard, and a King Air private jet have launched search parties, the latest of which ended 6 p.m. Saturday.

Rescue operations will resume Sunday morning, the CAAP said.

The aviation agency said more information will be released pending an investigation.
