MANILA - Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana is confined at the Veterans Memorial hospital due to “stress-related fatigue.”
“I am here at the Veterans undergoing executive check up. I will be out in a day or two," he wrote in a text message early Thursday.
Asked why he was brought to hospital, Lorenzana said “Just a routine executive check up after I came to the Veterans Hospital for some eye problems. They are doing a series of tests. While here they did a full check up. Stress-related daw.”
Lorenzana denied earlier rumors he had a cardiac arrest. “That’s what rumors are - exaggeration,” he said.
The 70-year old secretary expressed confidence that he would “be home in a day or two” after certain tests have been taken, but that he is keen on following the doctors’ advice to get proper rest because of his age.
“Gusto ko na ngang umuwi,” Lorenzana said.
