Beverly Dimacuha remains the mayor of Batangas City, following an unopposed candidacy.
She racked up 134,162 votes, while Doc Jun Berberabe, also unchallenged in his bid for the vice-mayoralty, garnered 132,668 votes, based on a 98.55% return of ballots Tuesday night.
Dimacuha rose to the position when she took over the candidacy of her father, Eduardo Dimacuha, in 2016.
The Dimacuha patriarch was mayor for 3 separate terms spanning a total of 22 years and beginning in 1988.
Beverly Dimacuha was considered a political newcomer in 2016.
Her husband, Marvey Mariño, won the congressional seat of the fifth district of Batangas; he, too, was unchallenged.
Dimacuha and Mariño are 2 of several hundred candidates who won seats even before the elections began by virtue of being unopposed.
According to ABS-CBN's research team, Dimacuha is one of 215 mayors and Mariño one of 34 district representatives who technically needed just one vote to win.
