MANILA—PDP-Laban bet and incumbent Lucena city Mayor Roderick Alcala won another term by a landslide, based on the unofficial tally of the Commission on Elections' transparency server.
Alcala garnered 88,619 votes versus his lone rival, Mon Talaga, who got only 37,318 votes.
This as the Comelec finished tallying 99.45 percent of total votes cast in the city as of 9:22 p.m. Tuesday, May 14.
Alcala's running mate, Philip Castillo, won as vice mayor with 70,621 votes versus Bong Talabong (51,337).
Last March, Duterte alleged that Alcala had links to the illegal drug trade, an accusation Alcala vehemently denied.
Alcala alleged that House Minority Leader Danilo Suarez was likely behind the suggestion. Suarez, meanwhile, denied Alcala's claim.
