MANILA – China has donated more medical supplies to aid the Philippines’ fight against COVID-19, the Chinese Embassy in Manila said Thursday.
The Philippine government on Tuesday received 80,000 surgical masks, protective suits and protective goggles donated by the Chinese Ministry of National Defense.
Chinese Ambassador Huang Xilian turned over the donation to Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana.
The Philippines has so far tallied 11,876 cases of the novel coronavirus, which originated in the Chinese city of Wuhan. Of the number, 790 have died while 2,337 have recovered, latest data from the Department of Health (DOH) showed.
