Outgoing Senator Loren Legarda was poised to win in the congressional race in Antique, based on partial and unofficial results Tuesday.
Legarda (NPC) had 193,255 votes while former Antique Gov. Exequiel Javier (Ind) had 68,598 votes, based on 96.9% of election returns from clustered precincts, as of 8:42 a.m.
Legarda, a former ABS-CBN News anchor, is term-limited in the upper house of Congress after winning a seat in the senatorial elections in 2007 and 2013.
It is her first time to run for a seat in the House of Representatives.
The Javiers have been the dominant political family in Antique since 1986.
