MANILA -- The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Sunday announced that the chairperson of the Electoral Board can now exercise voting privilege.
Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez posted a photo of the resolution on Twitter.
According to the resolution, the poll clerk will take over the duties of the chairperson of the Electoral Board until he or she returns.
The Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections will be held Monday, May 14.
The last barangay elections were held in October 2013, while the last SK elections were held in October 2010.
