P1-M allegedly used for vote-buying recovered in Zamboanga del Sur

ZAMBOANGA CITY - Soldiers of the First Infantry Division recovered more than P1 million cash in Barangay Dapiwak, Dumingag town in Zamboanga del Sur Saturday.

The money, believed to be used for vote-buying, was placed inside a paper bag.

Lt. Col. Rufino de Leon, 97th Infantry Battalion commander, said his troops found the money allegedly left by the group of an unidentified politician at the back of an abandoned house.

Sample ballots and other election materials were also recovered by the military.
