DIPOLOG CITY— The top target of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Dipolog City fell in the hands of authorities Friday after she was caught selling illegal drugs in a buy-bust operation.
Police finally took custody of Hanah Atendido, 20, in an entrapment operation after a year-long surveillance.
Listed as the No. 1 PDEA target in the city, Atendido was caught in an operation set shortly after she visited her known boyfriend, a Dipolog City Jail inmate identified as a drug lord.
The PDEA said agents who posed as buyers were able to buy P500 worth of illegal drugs from Atendido.
“She receives the remittances on their drug trade. They operate particularly in the areas of first and second district in the province,” said PDEA agent Mark Morciella.
While in custody, Atendido admitted that her group sourced drugs from Ozamiz City, the PDEA said.
The suspect is facing charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. - Report from Dynah Diestro, ABS-CBN News
