MANILA - Malacañang on Friday said it remains “grateful” despite a 12-point drop in the administration’s net satisfaction rating, based on the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said despite the slip, the “government’s rating remains ‘excellent’ in Mindanao, the President’s bailiwick, and stays ‘very good’ in Balance Luzon and the Visayas.”

Roque also cited the government’s efforts in helping disaster victims in areas where the administration received an “excellent” rating.

He added that Filipinos appreciate the government’s efforts in helping the poor, rebuilding conflict-stricken Marawi City, building and maintaining public infrastructure, promoting the welfare of Filipino migrant workers, fighting terrorism, and protecting human rights, areas where the government received a “very good” rating.

“Rest assured that the Duterte administration would continue to champion the interests of the greatest number of our countrymen, particularly in redoubling our efforts in ensuring that no Filipino family will ever be hungry,” Roque said in a statement.

The SWS said President Duterte’s administration posted a net satisfaction rating of plus-58 or a grade of "very good," a 12-point drop from the plus-70 rating (or grade of "excellent") that it achieved in December.

The survey found that 69 percent of adult Filipinos are "satisfied" with the general performance of the government, 18 percent are "undecided," while 11 percent are "dissatisfied."

The Duterte administration's net satisfaction rating stayed "very good" in Visayas (+57), "excellent" in Mindanao (+72), and "very good" in Balance Luzon (+50).

It declined from "excellent" to "very good" in Metro Manila from 71 points in the last quarter to 58 points.

SWS classifies net satisfaction ratings of at least +70 as “excellent”; +50 to +69 as “very good”; +30 to +49, “good”; +10 to +29, “moderate”; +9 to -9, “neutral”; -10 to -29, “poor”; -30 to -49, “bad”; -50 to -69, “very bad”; and -70 and below as “execrable.”
