MISAMIS ORIENTAL – A drug rehabilitation program here on Thursday produced 122 graduates after a 30-day intensive community-based rehabilitation and treatment program.
The graduates underwent various modules such as counselling, feedback, team building, art therapy, sports activities, spiritual guidance and family therapy, where they interacted personally with their immediate family members.
One of the graduates, a drug dependent for 18 years, said the rehabilitation program changed his life and brought him closer to his family.
Meanwhile, a woman from the batch was thankful for a chance to straighten her life. She recounted how illegal drugs destroyed her family and how it broke off her marriage.
The drug rehabilitation program was facilitated by the local government of Claveria, Misamis Oriental together with the Recovery Service Group, made up of mostly reformed drug dependents.
Since May last year, the local government already conducted 5 community-based rehabilitation and treatment programs which produced a total of 313 graduates.
