MANILA - President Rodrigo Duterte has tapped Eliseo Rio Jr. and Virginia Orogo as acting secretaries of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and Department of Social Welfare and Development (DWSD), respectively.
Rio took over as officer-in-charge (OIC) of DICT following the resignation of then secretary Rodolfo Salalima in September 2017.
Orogo, on the other hand, would take the place of DSWD OIC Emmanuel Leyco.
Prior to his appointment as acting secretary, Orogo had been serving as DSWD’s Undersecretary for Special Concerns.
Orogo was also the DSWD’s Undersecretary and Deputy National Program Director for Operations of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, government's conditional cash transfer initiative for the poor.
