Eighty-four soldiers who helped augment government forces in fighting Abu Sayyaf extremists in Bohol were sent back to their base in Negros Occidental early Wednesday morning.

The soldiers from the Charlie Company of the 303rd Brigade in Murcia boarded a C-130 plane.

But before they left, a simple send-off ceremony was held with the province of Bohol awarding each soldier with a certificate of appreciation for helping neutralize Abu Sayyaf bandits that entered Bohol last month.

The Army has said that the remaining Abu Sayyaf bandits Alyas Asis and Ubayda are already wounded and weak and thus do not pose a threat anymore.
