An estimated P15 million worth of illegal drugs were seized in a buy-bust operation in Purok Bangrus, Barangay 1, Bacolod City on Tuesday evening.

Police Chief Inspector Benedicto Villarias Jr., commander of Police Station 2, said the recovered illegal drugs, which he claimed as the biggest recovery in the city this year, came from the Reynante Villanueva, 43.

Villanueva sold a sachet of suspected shabu to a poseur buyer for P1,000, police said.

Upon sensing the presence of police in the area, Villanueva ran, prompting the police to give a warning shot but he did not stop.

Villarias said they were not expecting to recover one kilogram of shabu from Villanueva since he was not included in any drug listing under the area of Police Station 2.

Also arrested during the operation were Villanueva's wife Julie and visitor Jan Deocampo, who yielded three sachets of shabu.

When sought for their reactions, Julie said that she has no knowledge about his husband's illegal activities while Deocampo also denied his involvement in the act and said he was in the area just to get his motorcycle.
