MANILA — The Department of Health on Tuesday announced 199 new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in the Philippines, bringing the total number of cases to 9,684.
Of the new cases, 173 or 87 percent are from the National Capital Region, only one (0.5%) from Region 7 or Central Visayas and the rest (25 or 12.5%) from other regions.
In previous days, Cebu logged the 2nd highest number of new cases next to Metro Manila.
Meanwhile, 93 new recovered patients were recorded, the second highest number of new recoveries reported in a single day.
In total, there are now 1,408 patients who have recovered from COVID-19 in the Philippines.
The number of new deaths reported is at 14 or a total of 637 COVID-related fatalities as of Tuesday.
