Warning
Solicitor General Jose Calida warned the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) from issuing provisional authorities to ABS-CBN and its affiliates in the absence of a franchise from Congress. Today is the last day of ABS-CBN’s franchise. Leaders of Congress had already asked the NTC to issue a provisional authority to the network. Also, Calida’s move comes just in time for World Press Freedom Day.
