The number of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in Quezon City has risen to 1,269, the city government said Wednesday, citing Department of Health (DOH) data.
In a bulletin released 11 p.m., the city government said 199 patients have recovered from the disease, while 125 others have died.
The number of COVID-19 cases with complete addresses in Quezon City is now at 1,098, the city government added.
Of this number, the Quezon City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit and district offices have validated 926 cases so far.
There are 602 active cases of COVID-19 in the city, according to the bulletin.
The city government has placed 34 barangays under "extreme enhanced community quarantine" due to the number of COVID-19 cases in the areas.
The national government has extended the enhanced community quarantine in Metro Manila and other parts of the country for another two weeks while placing other areas under general community quarantine.
The Philippines has recorded 8,212 coronavirus disease cases as of Wednesday, with 558 deaths and 1,023 recoveries.
