The Department of Health (DOH) Region 6 on Wednesday said 3 new cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) were recorded in the Western Visayas, bringing the region's total to 66 cases.
According to the regional health department, the cases identified as as WV 64, a 43-year old female; and WV 65, a 49-year old male, are both from Caluya, Antique.
A 48-year old male from Arevalo, Iloilo City is the 66th case of COVID-19 in the region.
The Iloilo city government said 24 patients have recovered from the disease, while 9 others have died.
Iloilo province has the most number of COVID-19 cases with 20, followed by Antique with 83, and Bacolod City and Iloilo City at 9.
There are still no reported cases of the virus in Guimaras.
The national government has extended the enhanced community quarantine in Metro Manila and other parts of the country for another two weeks while placing other areas under general community quarantine.
The Philippines has recorded 8,212 coronavirus disease cases as of Tuesday, with 558 deaths and 1,023 recoveries.
