MANILA—Public satisfaction with the House of Representatives, the Supreme Court, and the Cabinet has reached a "record-high" in the first quarter of the year, the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey revealed Tuesday.

The poll also showed that the Senate recorded the highest score among key government institutions, rising to a "very good" plus-62 public satisfaction rating from plus-58 in December 2018.

Of 1,440 Filipinos, 72 percent said they were satisfied with the Senate's performance and 10 percent said they were dissatisfied, while the rest were undecided.

The House of Representatives, meanwhile, rose to a record-high "good" plus-47, up by 7 points from December 2018.

The 7-point rise was due to the increase of net satisfaction rating in all areas, the SWS said.

The lower chamber's rating climbed to plus-54 (from plus-14) in Visayas and plus-50 (from plus-42) in Mindanao.

It remained "good" in Balance Luzon and Metro Manila, with a net satisfaction rating of plus-47 and plus-37, respectively.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court recorded a "very good" plus-50 from a "good" plus-37 in the previous quarter.

The pollster attributed the 13-point rise due to the increases in Mindanao by 22 points to plus-49, in Balance Luzon by 16 points to plus-54, and Visayas by 9 points to plus-56.

The high court's rating, however, went down by 5 points in Metro Manila to plus-30.

The Cabinet also enjoyed positive gains in the latest survey and attained a record-high "good" plus-44 (from plus-35) in December 2018.

This surpassed the previous record of good plus-38 in December 2017, SWS said.

This was attributed to increases of 16 points in Balance Luzon (plus-51), 11 points in Mindanao (plus-38), and 4 points in the Visayas (plus-50), with a 10-point decrease in Metro Manila (plus-25).

The first quarter poll was conducted from March 28 to 31. It has a margin of error of plus/minus-2.6 percent for national figures.
