CEBU CITY -- The youth should cut the time they spend on gadgets and set aside 20 minutes daily to reflect on the blessings they have received, Pope Francis' envoy on Sunday told thousands who attended the National Youth Day here.

“Have time for silence, reflect and appreciate God’s love,” Apostolic Nuncio Gabriele Giordano Caccia of Italy said in a Mass closing the mammoth gathering.

The Mass at the Cebu City Sports Center drew some 20,000 worshipers, said the Cebu Archdiocese.

This is the first time that Cebu hosted the National Youth Day since it started it 1986. The 5-day gathering engaged youth delegates in prayer, art and music.

The Archdiocese of Caceres in Camarines Sur will host the next National Youth Day in 2021.
