MANILA - In just five months, the YouTube channel of ABS-CBN News earned another 1 million subscribers, to reach over 6 million subscribers this April.
The development comes amid the company's shift to the digital domain.
"Digital is our fastest-growing business to date," ABS-CBN president and CEO Carlo L. Katigbak said in the company's annual stockholder's meeting Thursday.
Last month, the outfit's Facebook page was the top publisher in the Philippines, according to social media analytics platform NewsWhip.
It was the lone Philippine website on the list, joining the ranks of top media entities like Daily Mail (top 1), Fox News (top 2), CNN (top 3), BBC (top 4), and New York Times (top 6).
ABS-CBN News also continues to inform more than 6.12 million followers on Twitter, and more than 1.1 million followers on the photo-sharing platform Instagram.
