MANILA - Presidential daughter and Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte on Tuesday denied any involvement in a purported project to buy a plot of land which will supposedly be used for a drug rehabilitation facility.

Duterte said she was informed that a certain Atty. Regidor Tulali, is allegedly using her name in a "scam" to buy 100 hectares of land in Palawan.

"This is not true and I believe this is a scam by certain individuals or a group using my name because I have never met a person in the name of Regidor Tulali nor am I involved in the purchase of land in Palawan," she said in a statement.

The President's daughter urged the public to take caution against individuals who "are out to make money by deceiving others using my name."

President Rodrigo Duterte has waged a war against crime and illegal drugs in fulfillment of his campaign promise to rid the country of its ills. His drive has killed thousands, according to international human rights agencies.

Malacañang has maintained that the state was not behind extra-judicial slays, as deaths attributed to the police occurred in legitimate operations.

The government has opened a mega drug rehabilitation center in Fort Magsaysay, with a promise to build more treatment facilities.
