CEBU CITY - This city recorded 20 more cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on Friday, bringing its total number of infections to 348.
Health officials said that of the total, 146 patients are from the Cebu City Jail.
The facility earlier registered 129 COVID-19 cases, which prompted Mayor Edgard Labella to extend the city's lockdown until May 15.
On Thursday, 7 residents from the city's Barangay Labangon were fetched from their homes and were brought to its elementary school used as an isolation facility in the village.
Labangon earlier placed itself on lockdown after logging 26 cases of COVID-19 in one day.
The city is now calling on other barangays to prepare their own isolation facilities.
As of Friday, the Philippines has recorded a total of 7,192 cases of coronavirus disease, with 762 recoveries and 477 deaths.
