Terror group Abu Sayyaf beheaded another one of its captives, an army soldier in Patikul, Sulu, a military official said Sunday.
Brigadier General Cirilito Sobejana confirmed to ABS-CBN News that the severed head and body of staff sergeant Anni Siraji was found in the village of Taglibis, Upper Patikul early Sunday.
He said the remains of the soldier was in the state of decomposition which shows that he was probably killed by the bandits around three days ago.
A resident in the area gave the information to the military which started their search operation in Patikul.
Siraji was abducted by the bandits last Thursday in Barangay Igasan in Patikul.
Sobejana said the family of Siraji was already informed about the unfortunate incident.
Earlier this month the Abu Sayyaf also beheaded Noel Besconde, a crew member of the FB Ramona, at the vicinity of Western Patikul, Sulu.
Sobejana added that government forces would continue its intensified offensives against the Abu Sayyaf in a bid to safely rescue the remaining hostages.
