MANILA—The website of think-tank IBON foundation has been hacked, its executive director, Sonny Africa, said Friday.
The foundation is currently working on the "resurrection" of the site after it was hit by cyber-attackers, Africa said in a tweet.
As of Friday afternoon, the think-tank's website was still down.
The attack on the foundation's website comes after National Security Adviser Hermogenes Esperon Jr. linked IBON to communist rebels.
Esperon earlier alleged that IBON was among the non-government organizations that act as a "legal front" of the Communist Party of the Philippines and its armed wing, the New People's Army.
