MANILA - A transmission line of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) collapsed due to a fire that hit a residential area in Alabang, Muntinlupa City on Wednesday.
In a video posted taken by Gilbert Dolot of the Bureau of Fire Protection in Muntinlupa City, the tower is seen leaning while the fire razed the residential area.
In a statement, the NGCP said the Binan-Muntinlupa 230kV line, located near the Alabang Exit of the South Luzon Expressway, was affected by the fire that started at around 9:00 a.m.
"By 9:15AM, NGCP personnel were on-site to assess the damage and check the safety perimeter. Aerial patrols were also conducted to evaluate the integrity of the tower," it added.
The NGCP said the collapse of the power line did not cause interruptions.
