MANILA—The Clark International Airport has upgraded its facilities amid the surge of travelers during the Holy Week.
Among those renovated were the domestic arrival hallway and entrance, and a newly constructed gangway that will link the domestic and international pre-departure areas.
The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) and the Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC) said the renovation addresses the increase of passengers.
As of Wednesday, the Clark International Airport has accommodated more than 1.2 million passengers, half of which were domestic travelers.
A new terminal building is also nearing completion and is expected to be operational by 2020.
The new terminal is expected to triple the airport's capacity to more than 12 million passengers per year.
