A 49-year-old man who had tested positive for COVID-19 has been cleared of the disease, which means there are now no active coronavirus cases in Negros Oriental, local health officials said on Friday.
According to Dr. Liland Estacion of the provincial health office, the patient in question tested negative after a second swab test.
The patient, one of four COVID-19 cases recorded in Negros Oriental, is recovering and will be discharged from hospital in the coming days, Estacion said.
The patient, the 28th COVID-19 case in Central Visayas, reportedly traveled to Cebu province and Dubai.
Due to the number of coronavirus cases in Negros Oriental, the provincial lockdown was extended until April 30 to curb the fast-spreading disease. — Report from Nico Delfin, ABS-CBN News
