The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) has recorded 314 aftershocks in Lanao del Sur as of 6 a.m. Friday, two days after a magnitude 6.0 quake hit the province.
PHIVOLCS Cagayan de Oro Station Head Marcial Labininay said the temblors were all related to the quake that rocked Wao town and nearby Kalilangan, Bukidnon on April 12.
Residents should expect more aftershocks in the coming days, he said.
Of the hundreds of shocks, only 13 were felt, while 58 were plotted as they registered a magnitude, Labininay said.
One of the strongest hit Thursday, when a 5.3-magnitude quake shook the province, registering at Intensity 6 in Kalilangan and Intensity 5 in Wao.
The Central Mindanao temblor followed the earthquake swarm that jolted Luzon on April 8.
