MANILA - Former Sulu governor Abdusakur Tan has pleaded guilty to charges of non-filing of his Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth from 2007 to 2011.
Tan was arraigned Thursday by the Sandiganbayan 6th Division on five counts of violation of Section 8 of the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees.
After pleading guilty to the charges, Tan was sentenced by the court to pay a P25,000 fine.
His son, former Maimbung mayor Samier Tan, is also facing charges at the 3rd Division for his failure to submit his SALN for the years 2010 and 2011.
The younger Tan is scheduled to be arraigned on May 11.
