MANILA - Counterfeit leather goods, apparel and other fake items amounting to P65 million were destroyed by authorities in Camp Crame, Friday, marking the government's push against violators of intellectual property laws.

A bulldozer ran over fake luxury items - including fake Louis Vuitton bags and wallets, Lacoste shirts and Rolex watches - inside the police headquarters in Quezon City.

Counterfeit Adidas, Nike, Under Armour and Vans shoes, Oppo phones, cellphone cases, cigarettes, cutting blades and toiletries were also destroyed.

Most of the items were seized in operations spearheaded by the Philippine National Police and the Department of Trade and Industry.
