MANILA- The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) on Thursday conducted an anti-terror simulation in Araneta Center, Cubao in Quezon City.

Among the situations police were trained to respond to were bombing, hostage-taking as well as crisis management.

Policemen were trained how to assault a bus with hostages, respond to an explosion, as well as how to evacuate casualties, and dispose bombs using a robot.

The exercise went well in general but NCRPO Chief Director Oscar Albayalde noticed that policemen who participated in the simulation were not able to prevent media personnel from going near the scene of the drill.

Albayalde however assured that the Philippine National Police and Armed Forces of the Philippines are ready to respond to any possible terror attack.

Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista also expressed appreciation for the anti-terror drill and promised more support for the police and military. -report from Raffy Santos, ABS-CBN News
