MANILA- Results of the 2018 University of the Philippines College Admissions Test (UPCAT) will be released by the end of April, UP Vice President for Public Affairs Jose Dalisay Jr said Wednesday.
Dalisay said the release of the results is "taking time" due to the large number of applicants.
“There’s no delay,” Dalisay said in a statement. "It’s taking time, but we’re making doubly sure that the results are accurate and fair.”
Out of the nearly 80,000 who took the UPCAT, only around 14,000 (17 percent) will be accepted into one of UP's eight campuses.
Dalisay said that while UP acknowledges the anticipation of applicants for the results, the university is striving to ensure the accuracy of test results.
"We can’t afford to make mistakes in haste, especially given that entrance to UP is one of the greatest privileges a young Filipino can receive,” he said.
