The local government of Bohol on Wednesday paid tribute to three soldiers and a policeman--four heroes who helped defend Inabanga from the terrorist group Abu Sayyaf a year ago today.
Residents remembered the heroic deeds of 2nd Lt. Espelito Saldua, Sergeant John Dexter Duero, Corporal Meljin Cajaban and PO2 Rey Anthony Nazareno.
The families of the fallen heroes were also present during the tribute.
The four were killed during a firefight with the terrorists whose presence were first reported by local residents on April 10.
The terrorists had allegedly planned to kidnap tourists in Bohol.
