MANILA- "Alamin niyo sa handler niya."
This was Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, Director General Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa's reply when asked about self-confessed Davao Death Squad member retired PO3 Arturo "Arthur" Lascañas' sudden departure to Singapore.
According to Dela Rosa, no one had an idea why Lascañas left the country, though he had every right to travel since he is not wanted by the law and does not have a departure order.
"I don't know kung ano ang purpose niya para lumabas. Hindi ko po alam. Malalaman natin yan later. Actually blind talaga ako, hindi ko alam kung bakit sya lumabas," he said.
The PNP chief said it is possible his handler knows why Lascañas left.
"Tanungin niyo handler niya. Sino ba handler niya? Sino ba? Hindi ba si Senator Trillanes? Tanungin niyo siya kung ano purpose ni Lascanas bakit lumabas yun para malaman. Hindi po kami ang handler nya," Dela Rosa said.
Lascañas left the country on Saturday bound for Singapore, the Bureau of Immigration confirmed.
BI spokesperson Tonette Mangrobang confirmed that Lascañas left the country on board a Tiger Airways flight to Singapore on Saturday afternoon.
"Based on the report of our port operations division, Arthur Lascañas presented himself for immigration formalities departing bound for Singapore yesterday (Saturday) at around 5:01 pm," Mangrobang told ABS-CBN News on Sunday.
