Trying to score
Sen. Nancy Binay wants a ban on Chinese workers in the country. Candidates of the opposition Otso Diretso will be in Zambales to have breakfast with fishermen there in a bid to score points with the electorate on the South China Sea issue.

Double take on double plates
In a speech over the weekend, President Rodrigo Duterte hit back at reports of his family’s wealth. He also said he is suspending the law he signed on double plates for motorcycles.

Hornet’s nest
President Duterte really stirred the hornet’s nest after he threatened to declare a revolutionary government. Vice President Leni Robredo said she is ready to take over should the President make good his plan. Her critics said she was too eager. She clarified that she was ready, but not eager. The President has become a real expert in making shocking statements to stir things up.

Hot in the city
Weather bureau PAGASA said Saturday was the hottest day in Metro Manila so far. And there are hotter days ahead.

A novel idea
