COVID-19 cases in Pasay reach 57

The number of cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Pasay City has reached 57, its public information office said Monday.

The city has also tallied 8 fatalities and 2 recoveries.

A total of 38 individuals are under investigation while 303 are under monitoring.

President Rodrigo Duterte has placed the country under a state of public health emergency because of the COVID-19 global pandemic.

The Department of Health earlier announced 414 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of patients in the Philippines to 3,660.

This is the second highest number of new cases reported in a day. The highest was 538, reported last March 31. In total, there are already 73 recoveries and 163 COVID-19 fatalities in the Philippines.
