MANDAUE CITY – Four people suspected to be members of the drug-linked Parojinog group were killed in separate incidents here Friday night.

A certain Jessie Parojinog, alyas Oyong, was shot after he allegedly fired at police officers serving an arrest warrent in Barangay Tingub. He was brought to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

One of his alleged cohorts who was in the house managed to escape.

In Barangay Looc, Henry Labajo and Eduard Baliling were killed in a police operation to arrest them. They had standing warrants for illegal possession and selling of drugs.

Another man, identified as Danilo Parojinog, was meanwhile gunned down by unidentified suspects on board motorcycles.

Police Maj. Mercy Villaro, spokesperson of the Mandaue City Police Office, said the killings were related and the men involved were part of the Ozamis-based Parojinog group, for long tagged in the illegal drug trade.

They have been living in Mandaue City, Cebu despite their standing warrants for illegal drugs and robbery.

Authorities are still conducting follow-up operations to track down other cohorts.

In November 2018, President Rodrigo Duterte warned the Parojinogs "I will wipe you from the face of the earth."

Several members of the family were slain in police raids in July 2017, among them Mayor Reynaldo "Aldong" Parojinog.

In March last year, the late mayor's cousin was gunned down by unidentified assailants in Ozamiz City.
