MANILA- President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday remained firm on his decision to sack Interior and Local Government Secretary Ismael "Mike" Sueno.

Speaking to reporters in Palawan, Duterte said he could never be misinformed on corruption allegations and insisted that he knows what he is doing.

“I could never be misinformed...When I make a move, when I fire you, diyan mismo alam ko ang ginagawa ko,” Duterte said.

Duterte booted Sueno out of his Cabinet due to "loss of trust and confidence," Malacañang confirmed Tuesday.

The President added that he plans to fire more officials in the coming days on suspicion of corruption.

Sueno, at a press conference earlier, said the President could have been misinformed on the fire trucks deal with Austria.

“I think he (Duterte) was misinformed. He acted and decided on what he read on the white paper,” he said.

He also reiterated support for the President even after the latter dismissed him over allegations of corruption.

"Hindi ako galit. Maraming nagalit sa akin dahil hindi ako nagalit kay Presidente," Sueno said at a Mass during his last day in office.

Sueno was replaced by his undersecretary, Catalino Cuy.
