The youngest of the patients who tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Cordillera has recovered from the illness, according to the Department of Health (DOH).
Based on the daily bulletin released by DOH in Cordillera on Friday, the 6-year-old girl from Benguet is one of the four coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) recoveries in the region. She is said to have travelled from Region IV-A.
Twelve other cases in Cordillera are in stable condition.
Meanwhile, Baguio City’s Health Services Office said no new cases have been reported in five days in the city despite the increased testing capacity of the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center’s (BGHMC).
From 20-40 tests in a day, the said subnational laboratory can now facilitate 80-100 tests.
“Kasi kung ganun parang nagsisimula na tayong nagfa-flatten diba kung limang araw na tayong zero confirmed tests and yet we are doing tests kasi dumating naman na yung test natin,” said Dr. Rowena Galpo, Baguio City’s Health Officer.
However, Galpo warned that there’s still no room for complacency. The next two weeks still have to observed. The monitoring will serve as a basis whether to lift or extend the enhanced community quarantine.
Galpo said it might be dangerous to open the city’s borders when neighboring provinces continue to record COVID-19 cases.
