MANILA - Five minors were rescued from a 17-year-old female pimp in Navotas.

The suspect, who allegedly offered the children to a pedophile based in the US, managed to escape.

The five children were featured in pornographic material recovered from a pedophile who was arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in the US.

Police said the pedophile went to the Philippines and brought the children to a hotel where he took sensitive photos.

Police Brigadier General William Macavinta, chief of the PNP Women and Children Protection Center, said they received information from their law enforcement counterpart.

“Accordingly may nahuli silang isang national nila sa US. May nakuha silang child sexual exploitative materials indicating among others, may minors at addresses na nakuha nila. Based on that referral nagkaroon tayo ng validation,” Macavinta said.

The children were neighbors and playmates with ages between 10 and 13.

Macavinta said the alleged pimp, who is only 17 years old, offered the children on the internet.

“Lumalabas dito na facilitator ay also a minor, and yung mga kapitbhay. Isa sa na-rescue nating biktima ay siya ring nagturo doon sa mga bahay ng mga kasamahan niya na naging biktima rin. Lima yon, siya ang nag-guide sa rescue teams natin para ma-rescue rin natin ang mga biktima na nakatira sa iba’t ibang location,” Macavinta said.

Macavinta said they still have to determine whether the suspected acted with or without discernment. Filing of the case will be based on the recommendation of a social worker.

Meanwhile, two victims were rescued in Agusan Del Sur while performing live sex online, according to PNP Caraga Region Director Brigadier General Gilberto Cruz.

The female suspect was arrested and will be charged with violation of Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act and Child Abuse Law.
