MANILA - Former Mandaluyong mayor Ernesto “Esto” Domingo has passed away, his family said Thursday. He was 92.
Domingo succumbed to heart and lung failure, said his son and namesake, former Mandaluyong vice mayor Ernesto "Bibot" Domingo, Jr.
The elder Domingo had tested negative for COVID-19, a family spokesperson said.
Domingo's family will hold his wake and inurnment after a Luzon-wide quarantine to contain the pandemic is lifted, said his son.
The Domingo patriarch served for 16 years as councilor and mayor of Mandaluyong. He was also a banker for 25 years and had served as president of manpower agency Diar Assistance Inc for nearly half a century.
"We ask for your continued prayers for his soul. Thank you for all the prayers and support," said his son.
