A volunteer was shot dead in Barangay Bagong Silangan, Quezon City late Wednesday amid the lockdown in Metro Manila.
The victim was identified as a 38-year old man named Ronaldo Cumayas, a former painter who lost his job during the lockdown. He was guarding the borders of a compound.
According to a witness, four men riding two motorcycles were seen in the crime scene.
The gunmen were able to escape despite checkpoints near the area.
The victim's mother said her son had no pending criminal case and had no known enemies in their neighborhood.
Police have yet to respond for queries about the incident as of writing.
