MANILA - Cloudy skies with light to moderate rain showers are expected in eastern portions of the country over the Easter weekend, the state weather bureau said Saturday.
The wet weather is due to Typhoon Caloy (international name: Jelawat), which grazed the country's eastern coast during the Holy Week without hitting land, PAGASA said in its 5 a.m. bulletin.
The state weather bureau said flash floods and landslides might occur in the following areas due to sudden downpours:
- Cagayan Valley
- Cordillera Administrative Region
- Quezon province
- Camarines Norte
- Camarines Sur
VISAYAS and MINDANAO
- Eastern Visayas
- Surigao del Norte
- Dinagat Islands Province
Rains in Metro Manila and western parts of the country are only due to localized thunderstorms, PAGASA said.
