CEBU CITY—Illegal drugs estimated to be worth nearly P12 million were confiscated in a drug bust in a village here on Good Friday.
Police confiscated a kilo of suspected "shabu" from a former security guard in Barangay San Nicolas.
Inspector Timoteu Lopezbanos, deputy chief of Cebu City Police Station 11, said the suspect has been under surveillance for 2 weeks already.
"We monitored his illegal transaction through also our past operations. We were surprised by the large amount of illegal drugs confiscated from him," Lopezbanos said.
Although the suspect refused to give information on his illegal drugs source and connections, police said they are now investigating names linked to the suspect.
The suspect is currently detained at Punta Princesa as he awaits charges.
Besides illicit drugs, authorities also recovered P23,000 from the suspect.
